ART & SCIENCE ARTFUL AFTERNOONS EVERY SATURDAY IN MARCH, 2011 1 – 4 PM
Join us for this month-long, free family celebration! Families are invited to enjoy a month of art and science at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Learn about air, fire, water, and earth through a series of free family art-making festivals on Saturday afternoons during the month of March.
At each event the UMFA will collaborate with two partners from the community or University of Utah.

FIRE • March 12

Activity: Charcoal Drawings Explore fire as an art medium by creating charcoal drawings and using sunlight to create photograms.
WATER • March 19
Collaborators:
- Westminster College's Great Salt Lake Institute
- The University of Utah Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Activity: The UMFA will make a splash teaming up with Westminster College's Great Salt Lake Institute and University of Utah Civil and Engineering Department to explore water through art and science. Families will make artistic waterwheels, make wearable water molecule models, paint watercolor cloudscapes, and investigate water through an aquatic treasure hunt.
