A letter from Katie

Dear Docents,

It is astounding to me that six months have gone by since I began working as Coordinator of Volunteer and Tour Programs here at the UMFA. It has been an incredible experience and I feel I have already learned and grown so much. I am especially grateful for all that I have learned from each of you. Your desire to serve at the museum and reach out to our wonderful community through your tours and the hard work you do to research and prepare for them is incredible.

In this short time I have seen your influence on our community, the excitement of our young k-12 groups as they come in for their tours, and the thank you's and comments I receive from those adults on campus and in our community for the wonderful experience they've had with you. I am deeply thankful for all you do and I know so many teachers, students, and visitors are grateful for the time you have taken to discuss and show them our collection. In the last month I have received several thank you's from groups who have been taken through the museum you. I want to take the reminder of this letter to share with you their genuine thanks for all you do.

Best, Katie White
