Curators at the UMFA will provide opinions on art objects brought in by the general public, by appointment only. This service is free of charge with the understanding that the curators can only devote a limited amount of time to each request. No off-site visits are possible, nor can objects brought in for examination be held or stored on the museum premises.
Curators assume no liability, cannot provide appraisals, cannot determine market value, or issue certificates of authenticity. If you wish to obtain an appraisal, please contact one of the organizations listed below for a list of qualified art appraisers in your area:
