Programs include open houses, Evening for Educators, and curriculum-specific workshops. For more information email UMFA School Programs or call 801.581.8336.
evening for educators workshops
Evening for Educators was introduced at the Springville Museum of Art. Designed by the Statewide Art Partnership, the program has expanded throughout the state and now includes the UMFA. Each presentation includes a lecture and workshops focused on a specific art theme, idea, genre, or time period. This free program, open to all educators, is designed to prepare teachers to use the visual arts in all school curricula. Packets with artwork images, biographies of the artists, and cross-curricular lesson plans are preloaded onto USB drives. If you have a UMFA USB drive from a previous workshop, please bring it to upload new lesson plans and resources. All lessons are available for download on the website.
State in-service credit is available to educators. By attending five evenings (15 hours) and completing a field test you can receive 1 credit hour of in-service credit. Download a field test. For more information call the Utah Museum of Fine Arts at 801.581.8336 or email UMFA School Programs.
