Creative Aging:
Feng Shui Vision Boards
Free workshop for artists 55+
What does your next chapter look like? Whether you’re retired, working, reinventing yourself, or simply ready to dream a little bigger, this two-day Creative Aging workshop invites you to explore what’s possible in 2027.
Artist Cat Palmer, who has taught Feng Shui vision boarding for nearly a decade, will guide you through the different areas of a Feng Shui vision board. Using collage, imagery, and words, you’ll reflect on your goals, discover new possibilities, and create a personalized vision board to inspire the year ahead. No artistic experience necessary. At the end of this two-session workshop, you’ll leave with a completed board and a renewed sense of intention for whatever comes next.
This workshop is for all skill levels and all materials are provided.
Please note that this workshop is only for those who are 55 years old or older, and registration priority for this workshop will be given those who have never attended a UMFA Creative Aging Workshop.
Please do not register for this workshop unless you are available for both days (Tuesday, January 5 and Thursday, January 7). We know things come up, but please plan carefully so we can keep this programming free. Please do not reserve a ticket if you cannot attend.
For more information or questions please contact Laura Sharp Wilson, manager of studio programs, at laura.wilson@umfa.utah.edu | 801.585.6176.
Meet the Artist Educator:

Cat Palmer took a leap of faith and made Salt Lake City home at the age of 21. Born in Los Angeles and shaped by the vibrant music and poetry scene of Orange County, California, they found a creative community that continues to inspire their work.
Today, Cat’s creative spirit thrives at The Bogue Foundry in downtown Salt Lake City, where they’re often immersed in photography, writing, and new artistic projects. A true renaissance creative, Cat writes the monthly Small Lake City column for City Weekly and makes regular appearances on ABC4’s Good Things Utah, highlighting the people, places, and stories that make Utah unique. They are also entering their third year as Programming Director for the Utah Queer Film Festival, curating powerful films and celebrating queer storytelling alongside a vibrant and growing community.
With nearly three decades behind the camera, Cat is also available for professional headshots, creating authentic portraits that help people look and feel like their best selves.
