Looking for a place to meet fellow artists and learn new skills in Salt Lake City? Open studio workshops at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts invite you to explore your artistic potential and the galleries! Feel free to bring your own sketchbook or current project to work on among new friends.

As a part of the recent re-installation of the UMFA’s Mexican art collection, the collaborative muralist group Roots Art Kollective (RAK) created a beautiful mural for the space. This artwork spans the back wall of the new Mexican art gallery and features a quetzal bird.  

Find inspiration in this stunning mural, and the art depicting birds throughout the Museum, then create a painting on canvas featuring your favorite bird!

All materials are provided. This workshop is for adults 18+. All levels of experience are welcome. RSVP is encouraged but not required.
