Sensory Friendly Day

Visit the Utah Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural History Museum of Utah for a sensory friendly museum day. Both museums will have a sensory modified environment, the UMFA for the full day (10 am–8 pm), and NHMU from 3:30–9 pm.

The UMFA will dim the lights, turn off installations with sound or flashing lights, and all programming will be suitable for those with sensory needs. Sensory bags with fidget toys, noise-canceling headphones, smelling sensory toys, and sunglasses will be available at the front desk.  

This event is free to attend, and registration is not required. Touch tours and ASL tours can be requested at the UMFA two weeks in advance.

• From Utah Museum of Fine Arts (410 Campus Center Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84112)
• Head southeast on 1725 E/Campus Center Dr toward S Campus Dr
• Turn right onto S Campus Dr
• At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit onto Campus Center Dr
• Use the left lane to turn left onto E 500 S/University Blvd
• Continue onto Foothill Dr
• Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Wakara Way/S Wakara Wy
• Drive straight for about .8 miles up the hill
• Turn right into the parking lot
