Community Voices Tour | Noon
Please join us on FREE Third Saturday for our Tatau community voices tour. Members of the community with personal and cultural connections to the Tatau: Marks of Polynesia exhibition will be in the galleries to share their perspectives.
Our community gallery guests are:
- Jacob Fitisemanu, Jr., Co-founder Utah Pacific Islander Health Coalition, as well as Samoan Integrated Learning Initiative; West Valley City Council Member
- Kilisitina Ika, University of Utah second-year biology major from California's Bay Area
- Lita Sagato, OCA Asian Pacific Islander Advocates Utah Chapter President, co-owner of Sagato Bakery & Cafe
Printmaking | 1-4 pm
Printmaking is a centuries-old art form still practiced today. Inspiration from art in the Tatau: Marks of Polynesia exhibition as well as bark cloth from the collection will spark your imagination as you design your own set of prints to decorate your space.
Sight And Sound | 1 pm & 2pm
Join us for special traditional Polynesian dances and musical performances. At 1pm, members of the University of Utah Samoan Club will take the stage. At 2pm, we'll be joined by students from Mana Academy.
