1st Session | 1 – 3 pm | FREE
2nd Session | 6 – 8 pm | FREE

Ever dreamt of bringing your imagination to life? Dream no more!

Join us at the UMFA between 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm on Wednesday, April 3, for our Drawing Disco! This fun and laid-back event is artist led and invites you to explore your artistic potential.

Inspired by the recently conserved Horses screen by Chiura Obata, as seen in the exhibition Chiura Obata: Layer by Layer, this Drawing Disco will showcase a sumi ink demonstration by local artist Joon Bae. Unleash your creativity as you learn all the tips and tricks for creating your own sumi ink masterpiece. Materials will be provided, and for those feeling especially adventurous, try your hand at drawing on a t-shirt!

All levels of drawing experience are welcome. Bring your own sketchbook or current project to work on, and let’s make some incredible art together!

Space is limited to fifty people, so be sure to arrive on time and don’t miss a thing!

This program was made possible, in part, through a grant from Layer by Layer's exhibition sponsor the Bank of America Conservation Project.
