Artists in the Global Contemporary Art Gallery

Explore this page to learn more about the artwork on view in the global contemporary art gallery and other galleries in the museum.

The UMFA’s global contemporary collection encompasses art in most media, including painting, sculpture, video, mixed media, interdisciplinary work, and works on paper including prints, drawings, and photographs. The collection focuses on art production from the post-World War II era. The current installation investigates central concepts from this period including abstraction, conceptual art, and the representation of women, among other things.
