Christa Clarke, a specialist in historic and contemporary African art, is senior curator, Arts of Global Africa, at the Newark Museum, where she has organized numerous exhibitions on topics ranging from Nigerian modernism to men's fashion. Her book Representing Africa in American Art Museums: A Century of Collecting and Display (co-edited with Kathleen Berzock; 2010; second printing in 2013) examines the impact of museum practice on the formation of meaning and public perception of African art. Clarke currently serves as President of the Association of Art Museum Curators and is a 2017-2018 fellow at Harvard's DuBois Institute for African and African American Research.
