Faces, Places, a 2018 Oscar nominated documentary, follows 89-year old filmmaker Agnes Varda and 33 year-old photographer and muralist JR through villages of France. They drive a photo truck, meeting locals, learning their stories, and producing epically sized and prominently displayed portraits along the way. This film not only documents the heartwarming encounters with their subjects, but tells the story of their unlikely, tender friendship they formed along the way.
