Join the UMFA as it welcomes ephigrapher Mark Van Stone and professor of Art History at Southwestern College for a talk exploring the mystery and beauty of Mayan hieroglyphs. Over the past decades, the ongoing  translation of this unique writing system has revealed insight into the Maya, from the victories of kings to names of demons to the writings on a a personalized chocolate drinking vessel.
