Leslie Anderson with Present! students
Present!
Collaborating with secondary art teachers to teach the Present strand of the Visual Arts Utah Core Standards

UMFA’s Present! program is a secondary-based collaboration between art teachers and museum educators designed to teach the Present strand of the Visual Arts Utah Core Standards. Throughout this program students will consider why people value art objects, who cares for artworks, what criteria is used to determine what artworks will be preserved and presented, and how the presentation of art influences the viewer’s understanding and experience. With a combination of in-classroom visits and museum field trips, students will consider the presentation of their own artworks as well as the work of others as they create artworks around a theme. Present! will culminate with their themed group exhibitions shared on UMFA’s website, links below.

Contact the Present! coordinator or call 801.585.0014 for more information.
