Experience the art of yoga from your own home and explore connections between the practice of yoga and themes found in the Museum’s collection. All experience levels welcome.

Classes are led by Jendar Marie Morales. Jendar was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She has been practicing yoga since 2008 and teaching since 2011. She holds a 500 E-RYT from the Yoga Alliance and has received training at the University of Utah and at the Association for Yoga and Meditation in Rishikesh, India. Jendar has also completed level one yoga therapy training at Inbody Yoga Academy in Salt Lake City, UT.

In her classes, Jendar applies principles from the Iyengar style of yoga, which focuses on alignment and use of props. She teaches students breathing and meditation techniques, and basic safe guidelines when practicing yoga postures to help them improve range of motion and stamina. She also holds an MA in museum studies from New York University and has worked in the arts for over a decade. Jendar is currently an associate instructor of yoga at the University of Utah School of Health and is a trainer at their 200-hour yoga teacher training program. She is also the founder and director of Raíces Yoga & Culture Retreat in San Juan, Puerto Rico (www.raicesyoga.com). Jendar is expecting her first child in the fall of 2020.

This series runs every Thursday August 27 through October 15.  Registration is required. Register once to receive access to the entire fall yoga series.
